Hamas in Lebanon receives delegation of Amal leaders

Hamas Movement in Lebanon received on Thursday a delegation of Amal Movement leaders in its office in Beirut.

The delegation which was led by Haj Jamil al-Hayek was received by the representative of Hamas Movement in Beirut Ali Baraka along with other leaders of Hamas in Lebanon.

Both sides discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian Question especially the efforts being exerted for the Palestinian reconciliation and the outcome of recent talks in Cairo in this regard.

According to a statement by the Movement both sides hailed Hamas’s move of dismantling the governmental committee and welcoming the government in Gaza.

They also agreed that Hamas’s initiative in Cairo is a good move on the way of regaining national unity and welcomed the Egyptian role in this regard.

They also praised Lebanese President Nabih Berri for his efforts for supporting the Palestinian Question and his keenness on national unity through his supervision of many dialogues aimed at ending the internal division and achieving reconciliation.

Both parties expressed their support for UNRWA and asked the international community and Arab countries to increase their contribution to UNRWA’s budget.

They stressed the necessity to maintain safety and security in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon as well as civil peace in Lebanon. They also called for boosting the Palestinian-Lebanese relations.
