The Hamas Movement has applauded Pakistani defense minister Khawaja Asif for his recent remarks about Palestine describing his position as “a reflection of his people’s firm support for the central cause of the Arab and Muslim nations.”
In press remarks on Friday Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum expressed his Movement’s thanks to the Pakistani defense minister for his sincere stance recalling Pakistan’s supportive positions towards the Palestinian cause since the time of its founder Muhammad Jinnah.
Barhoum urged the Arab and Islamic governments and the free world’s countries to voice strong positions against Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people and their land.
In recent remarks Asif reminded the British government and its foreign minister that the Balfour declaration was the reason for the Palestinian people’s suffering.
“Standing by an apartheid terrorist state make you complicit in the crimes of occupation. A century since the original sin of Balfour declaration with no end to inhumanity in sight Palestine continues to bleed” the defense minister said in a tweet last Monday.
He was responding to remarks made by British foreign secretary Liz Truss in which she expressed her country’s support for Israel’s recent deadly and devastating attacks on Gaza.
