The media office of Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas launched on Tuesday a media campaign on the tenth anniversary of the tragedy of Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in Lebanon.
In a statement on Tuesday Hamas said the campaign aims at shedding light on the humanitarian social and economic conditions in Nahr al-Bared refugee camp.
The statement called for accelerating the reconstruction process the return of families offering urgent relief and bringing the refugee camp back to normal life. The media campaign includes publishing information on the conditions and demands of Naher al-Bared refugee camp the statement added.
Hamas called on the media to follow up the issue of Nahr al-Bared refugee camp which was completely destroyed during fighting between a militant Jihadist group and the Lebanese army in the summer of 2007.
Hamas also asked the media to shed light on the suffering of 45000 refugees in Lebanon who were forced to take refuge outside the camp during the fighting. Most of them later returned to its outskirts but the camp itself has not yet been fully rebuilt
