A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by head of its political bureau Ismail Haneyya visited on Wednesday the headquarters of the Council of the Nation in Algiers and met with its president Saleh Goudjil.
According to Haneyya’s office Goudjil welcomed the Hamas leaders and expressed Algeria’s happiness over their visit to the country and their participation in the national celebrations marking the independence anniversary.
“Algeria will always remain aligned with Palestine and the Palestinian people in the face of the occupation’s crimes” Goudjil said during the meeting.
For his part Haneyya expressed his thanks and appreciation to the president of the Council of the Nation for his supportive positions on the Palestinian cause and congratulated him and the Algerian people on the country’s independence anniversary.
During the meeting the Hamas leader briefed Goudjil on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena especially the Israeli violations and crimes in Occupied Jerusalem.
The Hamas delegation also visited on the same day the headquarters of the People’s National Assembly and discussed with its president Ibrahim Boughali different issues related to the Palestinian cause.
The Hamas leadership hailed Algeria’s official and popular positions towards the Palestinian cause throughout history and also congratulated the presidency of the National Assembly on the country’s independence day celebrations.
