A Hamas delegation met on Wednesday with an Iranian envoy in Beirut to discuss the situation in Occupied Jerusalem.
Hamas leaders Saleh al-Arouri Osama Hamdan and Ali Baraka met with the Special Assistant to Speaker of Iran’s Shura Council Hussein Amir Abdullahian and the Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohamed Fath Ali at the headquarters of the Iranian embassy in Beirut.
Hamas delegates briefed the Iranian envoy on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories particularly in Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.
Both parties discussed the repercussions of the decade-long blockade on Gaza.
The Iranian delegation updated Hamas representatives on the efforts made by their country to urge Egypt to open the Rafah border-crossing.
Abdullahian lauded the Palestinians for forcing the Israeli occupation to remove its security installations at the gates of al-Aqsa Mosque—the third holiest site in Islam.
