Representative of Hamas Movement in Lebanon Ali Baraka on Monday morning met with Qatar’s ambassador to Lebanon Ali Bin Hamad al-Marri at the Qatari embassy in Beirut.
Key issues were discussed in the meeting including recent developments with regards to the Palestinian Question especially Israeli repeated violations and the continuation of Gaza siege in addition to the Palestinian internal reconciliation and the conditions of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
Baraka asked Qatar to contribute to the reconstruction of the devastated Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in Lebanon. He underlined that Palestinians in Lebanon adhere to their right of return and are concerned with civil peace in the country.
The Hamas leader Baraka stressed that Hamas is interested in achieving reconciliation and implementing the agreements signed in Cairo Doha and Gaza as well as the Beirut and Moscow understandings calling for forming a national unity government with a new Palestinian national council comprising all Palestinian factions.
For his part Qatar’s ambassador welcomed the Hamas delegation and promised to exert more efforts for achieving reconciliation and lifting the Gaza siege.
