NABLUS (PIC)– Hamas-affiliated change and reform parliamentary bloc strongly condemned the barbaric assault committed by the PA security apparatuses in Ramallah on Palestinian women who went on a peaceful march to demand the release of their abducted sons imprisoned in PA jails especially the attack on lady MP Mona Mansour who was sprayed in the face with poison gas.
In a statement on Saturday the parliamentary bloc also severely decried the suppression practiced by the PA security apparatuses against press and media reporters who were threatened with arrest if any repressive practices against the demonstrators are reported.
The bloc stated: “The fierce campaign waged against the Palestinian citizens in the West Bank by the PA security apparatuses is no longer hidden where they explicitly arrest Palestinian women storm mosques and prosecute charities providing human aid in the holy month of Ramadan.”
For its part the Palestinian people party denounced in a statement received by the PIC the acts of suppression committed by the PA security apparatuses against a peaceful female march organized by the families of political prisoners in Ramallah jails.
The Palestinian party called on PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to end all acts of suppression against public freedoms and to release all political prisoners from his jails.
For her part MP Khalida Jarrar a politburo member of the PFLP deplored in a statement received by the PIC the assault on the peaceful march underlining the citizens’ right to organize peaceful marches and protests as guaranteed by law which affirms the freedom of expression and the practice of public freedoms.
For his part Khaled Al-Batsh a leader of the Islamic Jihad also denounced on Saturday in a statement received by the PIC the assault on the peaceful female march especially the assault on lady MP Mona Mansour calling for allowing the Palestinian citizens to express their opinions freely.
For its part the committee of political abductees’ families confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday that many Palestinian prisoners in Ramallah jails were exposed to excruciating torture during investigation and many of them were transferred to Palestinian hospitals or released suffering diseases and permanent disabilities.
The statement added: “Depriving most of the Palestinian families from visiting their imprisoned sons is clearly a violation of the law and human rights and inconsistent with the minimum rights of any detainee and it is intended for covering acts of torture practiced against the prisoners.”
The statement pointed out that the ongoing arrests are conducted against the backdrop of political affiliation as most of the prisoners are university students teachers and former government officials calling on human rights organizations to intervene quickly to expose such violations to put an end to these illegal arrests and to pressure the PA in Ramallah to allow the Palestinian families to visit their related prisoners.
