Hamas Movement rejected the Israeli occupation’s plans to change landmarks in the Old City of Jerusalem by escalating Judaization schemes and colonial expansion the latest of which was the renovating and reopening of an old tunnel in Mount Zion that links different areas of the holy city.
In a statement issued Wednesday Hamas’s spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanou described such measures as a malicious attempt to turn the tunnel into an Israeli tourist site.
“We consider the step a crime against the city of Jerusalem. These attempts will not change the Palestinian identity of the city” al-Qanou further said.
He concluded by affirming that the Palestinian people will continue to defend Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa until final liberation and return.
Last week Hebrew media outlets revealed new Judaization plans in Occupied Jerusalem including turning some sites into tourist and archaeological sites that promote the Israeli fabricated narratives.
