Hamas renews vow to keep resisting occupation

Friday 2-November-2018

The Hamas Movement has reiterated its rejection of the illegal existence of the Israeli occupation on the land of Palestine stressing that it will never recognize it or stop resisting it.

In a statement released on Friday on the anniversary of the disastrous Balfour declaration Hamas called for providing all forms of support for the March of Return which it described as “the symbol of the true national unity in the face of Israeli plots.”

“The Anniversary of the Balfour declaration comes at a time as the American and Israeli measures and schemes are on the rise aiming to obliterate the Palestinian cause and completely negate the Palestinian people’s national and historic rights” Hamas stated.

“This painful anniversary prompts us to reiterate repeatedly the invalid and illegitimate existence of the occupation and our right to resist it by all means and whatever the sacrifices” the Movement said.

It emphasized that Britain is obliged to apologize to the Palestinian people for this declaration and atone for “its historical sin.”

The Balfour declaration was a public statement issued by the British government during World War I announcing support for the establishment of a national home for Jews in Palestine.

The declaration was contained in a letter dated November 2 1917 from the then British foreign secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild a leader of the British Jewish community.
