The Hamas Movement on Monday slammed the statements of Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rai that demanded the resettlement of Palestinian refugees from Lebanon into other countries.
The spokesman of the Hamas Movement Jihad Taha said in a press statement that Patriarch Al-Rai’s statements don’t reflect the strong political and national relationship between Lebanon and Palestine adding that Palestinian refugees reject all resettlement plans and won’t abandon their right of return.
Spokesman Taha hailed the Lebanese positions that condemned the Israeli projects and plots which target both Palestine and Lebanon.
Earlier on Saturday Patriarch al-Rai called on the international community and the Lebanese authorities to find a final solution to the problem of Palestinian refugees and displaced Syrians in Lebanon by transferring them to other countries where they can live “a decent life”.
