The Hamas Movement has said that what came in the recent statement released by the government of al-Hamdallah about not enabling it to run the electricity sector in Gaza reflected “its mindset and its persistence in its exposed and disappointing policies.”
In a press release on Tuesday Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum accused Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas and premier Rami al-Hamdallah of insisting on being party to the blockade on Gaza and making life more difficult for the population.
Barhoum said that Abbas and Hamdallah ignored all the efforts that had been made by Palestinian factions and other parties to end the electricity crisis in Gaza describing their attitude towards the issue as a reflection of their inhumane and serious role in supporting the daily Israeli restrictions on Gaza.
He called on the government in Ramallah to be morally responsible and urgently respond to the national calls demanding it to assume its duties fully towards Gaza and its population and distance itself from all wrong and destructive policies.
