The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced the appropriation of “al-Hamra” land by Jewish settlers on Tuesday morning in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan.
“This is a new Zionist crime and part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to Judaize Jerusalem expel its residents and tighten the noose around the Aqsa Mosque” Hamas spokesman Mohamed Hamada said in press remarks.
The spokesman affirmed that the Palestinian people would respond to that Israeli crime with more confrontation and steadfastness in Jerusalem stressing that the Aqsa Mosque would remain a purely Islamic holy site.
He appealed to the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to assume their historical responsibilities towards the Islamic holy sites and work on protecting the Aqsa Mosque.
