Hamas Movement has warned that it was studying options for possible military escalation with the Israeli occupation in light of the slackness in the reconstruction process of the Gaza Strip and in ending its siege.
A senior Hamas official told Al-Jazeera TV on Monday evening that the Israeli attacks on the Aqsa Mosque and on Palestinian prisoners herald an explosion in the conditions in Palestine.
He said that his Movement would not allow such practice to continue unchecked adding “The upcoming stage will prove our credibility in this issue”.
The source who was not identified also expressed dismay at the behavior of the Egyptian mediator and its slackness in its promise for the reconstruction of Gaza adding that Cairo did not live up to its promises concerning the reconstruction of the beleaguered Strip and alleviating its dire conditions.
He said that Egypt had given up its pledge to force the Israeli occupation to alleviate Gaza suffering in return for the Palestinian resistance’s adherence to a ceasefire.
