Hamas upgrades its missiles anti-tank weapons to thwart possible IOF invasion

Monday 20-November-2006

Gaza – Spokesman of the Qassam Brigades Hamas’ armed wing Abu Obaida has unveiled that the armed wing was striving hard to upgrade its missiles and anti-tank weapons to make them more accurate and more effective than what they are now.

After revealing the news in press statements he made Sunday Abu Obaida warned IOF generals and Israel’s war minister Amir Peretz against carrying out any military operations in Gaza Strip warning “If the IOF troops’ commit any foolishness in the Strip the Brigades along with other armed wings of the Palestinian resistance will respond painfully”.

“We will intensify firing our missiles on Israeli settlements that became within the range of our rockets and we will not hesitate to use them again in retaliation to any Israeli aggressions” he asserted.

The Israeli occupation government was desperately attempting to foil Palestinian missiles fired from Gaza Strip on Israeli colonies especially Sderot settlement among others but failed so far in achieving the mission despite the repeated military operations the IOF troops carried out in the Strip over the past six years.

But Abu Obaida affirmed that the armed wing is part of Hamas and abides by the Movement’s decisions; yet he added “Hamas will not give a truce for gratis while IOF troops keep on killing our people”.

Palestinian old man dies in IOF missile raid:
In Gaza city a 75-year-old Palestinian man was killed and nine others were wounded when an Israeli drone unleashed an air-to-surface missile at Palestinian car driving in Al-Zaitun suburb in the city.

The missile directly hit the car where two of the Qassam fighters including a high-ranking field commander were on board but failed to kill them.

Nine Palestinian passersby were wounded in the strike and rushed to the Shifa hospital for treatment where one of them Rabah Hajji 75 succumbed to his wounds hours later.

The Israeli colony of Sderot last night came under new Qassam missile shelling as the armed wing fired two of its missiles on the said settlement.

In a military communiqué it issued in this regard and a copy of which was faxed to the PIC the armed wing affirmed that the missile assault was in retaliation to the non-stop IOF troops’ aggressions on the unarmed Palestinian civilians.

More Palestinian home-made rockets were fired at IOF positions in and around Gaza Strip as the National Resistance Brigades armed wing of the DFLP claimed responsibility for rocking IOF troops’ posts at the Karm Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing point southeast of the Strip.

Cash-strapped PA government extends aid to beleaguered Beit Hanun city:
Despite the unjust strangling economic blockade imposed on it for nine months the PA government allocated 415000 dollars to rehabilitate the beleaguered city of Beit Hanun and to compensate those who lost their homes in the IOF troops’ brutal aggression on the city over the past two weeks.

The PA government formed a special committee to carry out and supervise the rehabilitation process.
