The Hamas Movement has called on the international community to take action to criminalize and curb Israel’s violations against the Palestinian people warning of the failure to take concrete steps in this regard.
“Presenting reports on Israel’s violations at the UN Security Council without criminalizing it and obligating it to stop them will only encourage it to escalate its aggression against our Palestinian people” Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif Qanu said in a press release on Wednesday.
Spokesman Qanu stressed that what the deputy special coordinator for the Middle East peace process Lynn Hastings presented on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories during a recent Security Council session were only a fraction of the ongoing Israeli crimes and violations committed against the Palestinian people and their land.
The spokesman called on the UN and the influential international parties to assume their political legal and humanitarian responsibilities in this regard and take urgent and effective steps to put an end to Israel’s aggressive practices against the Palestinian people.
