Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem has called on the international community to take serious steps to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its war crimes against the Palestinian people.
In a press statement late Monday Qasem explained that repeated international calls for probing into the Israeli occupation’s crimes have failed to put an end to its ongoing aggression and terrorism against the Palestinian people.
Qasem’s remarks came following of a series of crimes committed against the Palestinian people the latest of which was the summary execution of Mohammed al-Shaham by Israeli police forces during a raid on his home in Occupied Jerusalem.
The UN called for an “immediate comprehensive and independent investigation” into the young man’s murder.
The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland said in a tweet: “I am deeply disturbed by the killing of the Palestinian youth Mohammed al-Shaham at the hands of the Israeli security forces in his home in Kufr Aqab in disputed circumstances.”
“This requires an immediate thorough and independent investigation.”
