The Hamas Movement has appreciated the Jordanian popular positions that rejected the participation of Israelis in the Baja racing event which is being organized in Aqaba City.
“The Movement highly appreciates the positions stated by popular media and commercial institutions in Jordan which rejected the participation of Zionist athletes in the international Baja rally that is being held on the Jordanian territory” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said in press remarks.
Spokesman Qasem also applauded Jordanian institutions for withdrawing their sponsorship of this event as it violates the Jordanian people’s faith and convictions and their supportive positions towards the Palestinian people Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.
Jordan’s Roya satellite channel and Hamada Restaurants announced their decision to cancel their sponsorship of any sporting event if Israeli contenders were allowed to participate in it.
The Jordanian Journalists Syndicate also warned on Friday all the local media outlets of being involved in any coverage of the rally in which 13 Israeli racers were allowed to take part.
