The Hamas Movement has appreciated the Lebanese positions that rejected the construction of an isolation wall at Ein al-Hilweh refugee camp in the southern city of Sidon.
In press remarks on Saturday senior Hamas official Ra’fat Murra expressed his Movement’s thanks to all Lebanese politicians and media figures for stating clear positions against this wall.
Murra applauded in particular the position of Walid Jumblatt who condemned the wall as “similar to the apartheid one built by Israel in the West Bank.”
The Lebanese army started recently to build a concrete wall with several watchtowers on the western side of the camp claiming its construction was a security necessity.
