Hamas wants kidnapped BBC reporter freed immediately

Monday 2-April-2007

GAZA (PIC)– A delegation form Hamas Movement headed on Sunday to the sit-in tent at the Unknown Soldier’s plaza in Gaza city in support of kidnapped BBC reporter Alan Johnston.

Johnston was kidnapped three week ago at the hands of unknown armed group widely believed to be working for Israel’s interests in the Palestinian arena.

Hamas and other Palestinian resistance factions as well as civil society institutions condemned Johnston’s abduction and urged his immediate and unconditional release.

During the sit-in the delegation vowed that Hamas will do its best in securing the safe release of the reporter urging PA presidency and government to immediately work for the reporter’s safe return to his family.

The delegation furthermore called on the PA justice department to prosecute Johnston’s kidnappers as well as other vandal elements involved in mischievous activities in the Palestinian lands.

Johnston is known for his sympathy with the Palestinian people’s struggle and has succeeded in unmasking a number of IOF troops’ crimes against the unarmed Palestinian people.
