GAZA (PIC)– The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has unequivocally warned Saturday the Ramallah-based government of Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas not to yield the call of Israeli premier Binyamin Netanyahu to recognize Israel as a “Jewish state”.
According to Fawzi Barhoum the spokesman of the Movement in Gaza Strip “any harmony with Netanyahu’s call would grant the legitimacy to a Zionist terrorist and extremist entity asserting that such call should prompt Palestinian and Arab leaders negotiating and normalizing ties with the Hebrew state to halt all forms of negotiations.
Barhoum also expressed fears that the call of Netanyahu could be part of “secret deal” with Mahmoud Abbas in return for political or monetary gains promised by the Zionist authorities and the USA underlining that recognizing the Zionist entity as a “Jewish state” would have adverse repercussions on the Palestinian people’s legal rights and national constants.
He also underlined that the attack on two Israeli policemen in the occupied city of Jerusalem was a “natural” result to the Israeli quelling measures against the Palestinian people in the city.
For his part Dr. Yousef Rezqa the political advisor of the legitimate PA premier Ismael Haneyya seconded Barhoum’s concerns underscoring that talking about recognizing the Zionist entity as “Jewish state” would kill hope of the millions of Palestinian refugees living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and in the diaspora to return to their homes in the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands.
Moreover Rezqa explained that no country in this world dared to make such a demand which exposes Israeli racism highlighting that the international community is duty-bound to protect the legal rights of the Palestinian people which were granted in many UN resolutions including resolution 194 that stresses on the full right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland.
Furthermore Rezqa criticized Abbas’s “hasty” step to congratulate Netanyahu on the Jewish Passover fiesta despite the rigid and extremist stands of Netanyahu’s government towards the Palestinian people.
He also described as “national crime” the PA security coordination with the IOA urging the PA security forces in the West Bank to cease all forms of coordination with the Zionist enemy.
