Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s leader on Thursday evening called Um Kifah the wife of the late Palestinian activist and political critic Nizar Banat and offered her condolences on behalf of the Palestinians and Hamas for the assassination of her husband.
Haneyya stressed that this crime represents an attack on all free people in Palestine and everyone who wants to fight corruption and supports the approach of resistance.
He affirmed full support for the martyr’s family and all those who reject this “heinous crime”. He also promised to follow up the developments of this case so that the perpetrators would bear full responsibility.
Meanwhile Banat’s family held Mahmoud Abbas the Palestinian Authority (PA) President and his Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh fully responsible for the murder of their son Nizar Banat after he was arrested in the morning and assaulted by more than twenty PA officers.
The family said in a statement that “We were certain that this day would come as a result of the threats that were reaching Banat.”
