Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya discussed on Monday with Qatari envoy Mohamed al-Emadi who are on a short visit to Gaza recent understandings and efforts to end the humanitarian suffering of the Gaza population.
Taher al-Nunu spokesman for Haneyya stated in press remarks that the leadership of Hamas reiterated its sincere appreciation to the Qatari role in supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.
The Hamas leadership also hailed the position of the Qatari foreign ministry for refusing to consider the Movement a terror group and opposing the positions of some countries and institutions in this regard.
According to spokesman Nunu the two sides discussed the recent understandings reached over Gaza by Qatar Egypt and the UN and the need to honor them.
The Hamas leadership warned during the meeting of Israel’s reluctance to implement the understandings over Gaza and the naval blockade it imposed recently on fishermen.
For his part Emadi gave a detailed briefing to the Palestinian side about his meetings with officials from the UN the European Union and Israel with regard to the situation in Gaza.
