Haneyya: Hamas fulfilled its obligations under reconciliation deal

Wednesday 1-November-2017

Head of the Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya on Wednesday said that his Movement has fulfilled all its obligations under the reconciliation agreement the latest of which was handing over the administration of Gaza’s crossings to the Palestinian Authority government.

Haneyya announced in a speech he delivered in two conferences in Gaza and Beirut that Hamas will make every possible effort to make the reconciliation succeed adding “We will never back off whatever the cost is.”

He stressed the need to adopt the principle of resistance on the popular political military and economic levels pointing out that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip the West Bank and the 1948 Palestine are standing firm against the Israeli occupation.

The Hamas leader emphasized that the Palestinian cause must remain the central of attention in the Arab and Muslim arena despite the internal conflicts plaguing the region affirming that Hamas maintains strong relations with everyone including Egypt and Iran.

Though there are many challenges facing the Palestinian cause Haneyya said the project of establishing a Jewish-only state in Palestine has no future.
