Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has expressed his belief that history will not show mercy to the Arab countries that recognize Israel and normalize relations with it stressing that the Arab peoples will always remember those who betray them.
“Any deal done by an Arab country with Israel will eventually expose that country to danger” Haneyya said in press remarks to Middle East Eye.
He said that such normalization deals are aimed at providing a military and economic foothold for Israel in the areas near Iran asserting that the countries that allowed themselves to be used as means to facilitate Israeli projects in the region would lose.
In another context the Hamas leader pointed to the presence of Egyptian efforts to broker a prisoner swap deal between the parties in Gaza and Israel.
He said that his Movement was still waiting for a clear response in this regard after an Egyptian delegation conveyed his Movement’s demands to the other side.
