Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has said that the Palestine Land Day is “an immortal day and a reflection of the Palestinian people’s adherence to their homeland and their right of return” which he described as “a sacred right.”
In press remarks to Anadolu news agency on the 45th Land Day anniversary Haneyya affirmed that the Palestinian people mark this anniversary because it contains many symbols including the fact that the Palestinian land is the focus of the conflict between us and the occupation.”
“The [Palestinian] people have made great sacrifices to protect their homeland and confront the annexation and settlement plans which the occupation has embarked on since it invaded the blessed land of Palestine” the Hamas political chief underlined.
Haneyya also described the Land Day as “part of the Palestinian people’s memoirs” and “an assertion that they are one united people in Gaza the West Bank Jerusalem the 1948 occupied lands and the diaspora.”
“Our adherence to the homeland and the right of return is something sacred that no one can waive or renounce” he stressed.
“The Palestinian people will have their political entity their land and their state on the land of Palestine [sooner or later]” the Hamas leader added.
