Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has stressed that the Palestinian people will not yield to Israel’s oppression and terrorism and will exercise their right to enter the Aqsa Mosque to perform acts of worship.
“We have assured all the parties that contacted us that the Aqsa Mosque is exclusively our holy site and that the Jews have no right to it at all. Our people have the right to reach the Mosque for prayers and I’tikaf (religious retreat) and they will not submit to the Zionist repressive and terrorist measures” the Hamas leader said in press remarks on Sunday.
Haneyya affirmed that the Palestinian people also have the right to defend themselves and their land and resist the occupation expressing his belief that the Palestinian people would win the battle over Jerusalem eventually.
