The head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has underlined that Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi had always supported the Gaza Strip and that the Palestinian cause was a top priority for him.
“Sheikh Al-Qaradawi did not believe in giving up an inch of the Palestinian lands” Haneyya said on Tuesday in a statement at the funeral of Al-Qaradawi in the Qatari capital Doha.
Palestinians will achieve victory and there will be no place for the invaders in the Palestinian lands Haneyya added.
He concluded that the Palestinian people and Islamic Ummah are deeply saddened by the death of Al-Qaradawi reiterating the Palestinians’ determination to follow his footsteps and protect the Palestinian lands.
Earlier on Monday renowned Islamic scholar and Founding President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi passed away in Qatar’s capital Doha.
