Haneyya: Participation in elections through unified national list

Wednesday 17-March-2021

Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s leader said on Wednesday that his Movement prefers to participate in the legislative elections in a unified national list that includes the widest national political spectrum.

Haneyya said in an article published in the Palestinian Al-Quds newspaper that Hamas was keen on strengthening national unity and ending division as essential step for maximizing Palestinian self-strength and mobilizing the forces of the Arab and Islamic nations to confront the “Zionist project.”

Hamas’s leader pointed out that his Movement wanted to hold elections to activate the role of all Palestinians in choosing the leadership that represents them.

Haneyya explained that his Movement looks forward to forming a national unity government after the elections in which everyone participates to oversee the final elimination of all national divisions.

After completing the process of re-forming the Palestinian political system he said “We will move to the most important stage which is the formulation of a comprehensive and unified struggle strategy”.
