Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya recalled on Tuesday the principles that Sheikh Ahmed Yassin the founding leader of Hamas had established during his life and the legacy of resistance he left to his people after his death.
“Sheikh Ahmed Yassin the founder wrote an epic of struggle during his life and martyrdom and he embodied in his lifetime the greatness of building and concluded it with impressive martyrdom” Haneyya stated on the 18th anniversary of Sheikh Yassin’s martyrdom.
“Sheikh Yassin raised the banner of resistance and struggle that is based on faith and a unique educational approach. He also founded a religious generation that has carried the holy Qur’an and rifles and fought the occupation in every arena and on every front” the Hamas political chief added.
“Hamas today is stronger and more capable of challenging the occupation and it has become more rooted giving and popular … We are confident that we are much closer to the day of victory and liberation” he underlined.
