Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has said that “the resistance that fought the ‘Sword of Jerusalem’ battle in defense of the holy city is ready to fight other battles in support of the Palestinian prisoners.”
In a news conference held in Istanbul on Thursday Haneyya described the issue of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails as “national par excellence” and “not related to a particular faction group or party.”
“The Palestinian people wherever they are interact and stand in solidarity with the prisoners because their question brings our people from all spectra together” the Hamas leader said.
He urged the international community to shoulder their humanitarian and moral responsibilities towards the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and put an end to their suffering.
