Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya on Tuesday said that Hamas is willing to discuss all issues and make every possible effort to make the reconciliation succeed.
During an interview with Egypt’s ONTV Live channel Haneyya said “We want the government to exercise its powers in the West Bank and Gaza without any interference” adding “We will go to Cairo to confer with Fatah about all the files related to the government’s work.”
As for Hamas’s weapons arsenal Haneyya explained that the government’s weapons are different from that of the Palestinian resistance stressing that as long as there is an occupation resistance in all its forms is a right of the Palestinian people.
He expressed his Movement’s readiness to cooperate will all factions including Fatah to establish a unified strategy in the political and diplomatic work.
In another context Haneyya announced that Gaza’s security forces have launched large-scale security measures on the borders with Egypt that are aimed at protecting Egypt’s national security which is of great importance to Hamas.
The Hamas leader affirmed that his Movement is a national liberation movement that targets the Israeli occupation and does not have any military presence outside the Palestinian territories adding that Hamas never interferes in the internal affairs of other countries.
