Saturday 15-September-2007

GAZA (PIC)– Ismail Haneyya the premier of the PA caretaker government conducted a telephone call on Friday evening with Saudi monarch King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz in which he underlined his government’s adherence to Makkah accord signed between Hamas and Fatah factions.

Haneyya had conducted in the last few days a series of contacts with heads and prominent officials of Arab states to discuss the current Palestinian crisis and to urge them to intensify their efforts to break the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip. These contacts according to national observers reflect the Arab interaction with Hamas despite the continued incitement against it by PA chief Mahmoud Abbas’s team.

In a statement Taher Annono the spokesman for the caretaker government stated that the premier briefed King Abdullah on the daily Israeli threats against the Palestinian people particularly in the Gaza Strip and reiterated his government’s adherence to the national dialogue and unity and its keenness on ending the current rift in the Palestinian arena.

The spokesman also pointed out that the Saudi monarch lauded Haneyya’s efforts to end the internal crisis and his keenness on the national dialogue and unity and underscored Saudi Arabia’s endless support for the Palestinian people.

In another context the spokesman refuted the allegations that the caretaker government has entered a slow suicide stage confirming that the government every day gains growing support from the Palestinian people after it ended successfully the lawlessness in Gaza.
