GAZA (PIC)– Ismail Haneyya the premier of the caretaker government and MP Dr. Mahmoud Zahhar the former foreign minister performed together the evening prayer in a mosque in Gaza which is considered a practical refutation of the allegations spread by Fatah-affiliated media that there were disputes between them.
Palestine TV channel and a number of websites affiliated with Fatah which are specialized in the propagation of rumors had reported few days ago news that there is a conflict and fighting between supporters of Haneyya and Zahhar. These rumors became a subject of ridicule in the Palestinian street.
For his part Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil the spokesman for the Hamas affiliated change and reform parliamentary bloc warned in a press release of a “serious conspiracy” being prepared at various levels to wage an unprecedented war on Hamas leaders accusing the PA security apparatuses in Ramallah of involvement in this “conspiracy”.
The spokesman considered that the last rumors about disputes within Hamas fall under this conspiracy pointing out that the rumors which come in conjunction with the start of the Israeli campaign to assassinate some leading figures in Hamas mean that both Haneyya and Zahhar are on the top of the hit list.
The spokesman highlighted: “We are fully aware of the seriousness of this scheme and we are on the lookout for it and we will strongly strike everyone attempting to harm Hamas political leaders.”
For his part Ismail Redwan a Hamas spokesman denied in a press release that there were disputes between Hamas leaders inside or outside Palestine confirming that the rumormongers aim to agitate the Palestinian arena.
In another context Redwan also denied the existence of any disagreements between Hamas and some Arab countries particularly Egypt and Saudi Arabia underscoring Hamas’s keenness on keeping balanced relations with all Arab countries.
