Tuesday 21-June-2022

Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya arrived in the Lebanese capital Beirut at the head of a senior Hamas delegation on Tuesday on a visit during which he will meet with Lebanese officials and leaders.

The Hamas Movement said in a press statement that Haneyya’s visit comes within the framework of strengthening relations of cooperation and brotherhood between the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples in addition to following up on the issue of Palestinian refugees in the Lebanese camps.

The Movement underlined that Haneyya will also meet leaders of the Palestinian factions and the Palestinian national and popular forces. It added that he will deliver the Palestinian resistance’s speech before the Islamic National Conference in its 31st session in Beirut.

For his part head of Hamas’s national relations department Ali Baraka said that Haneyya’s visit comes after the frequent bids to authorize international organizations to provide services to Palestinian refugees on behalf of UNRWA and the attempts to erode the rights of Palestine refugees.

Baraka added in a statement to the PIC that the visit also comes after the recent demands of resettling Palestinian refugees from Lebanon into other countries adding that Hamas rejects all resettlement plans and will not abandon the Palestinians’ right of return.

He underlined that the Hamas leader will meet with the Lebanese president premier and parliament speaker in addition to leaders of parties to brief them on latest Palestinian developments.
