Ismail Haneyya the political bureau chairman of Hamas Movement reached Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas over the phone on Tuesday night and congratulated him on the success of the national dialogue in Cairo.
A Hamas statement said that Haneyya and Abbas affirmed the importance of going ahead in the Palestinian elections on the dates declared by Abbas in a way reflecting the civilized image of the Palestinian people.
It quoted Haneyya as affirming his Movement’s insistence on ending the internal division and building Palestinian political system based on pluralism and partnership and enhancing joint action in face of occupation and its policies.
“We are adamant on going ahead (with reconciliation) and to deal with all details in the process with a positive spirit” the Hamas leader emphasized.
