Head of Hamas Politburo Ismail Haneyya stressed in a phone conversation with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov the importance of the Russian role in the region and Russian positive positions in support of the Palestinian cause.
Haneyya discussed with Bagdanov the “latest developments related to the Palestinian issue” Hamas’ official website reported in a brief statement.
Haneyya told Bogdanov of Hamas’ keenness to achieve intra-national Palestinian reconciliation the statement added.
Haneyya was scheduled to meet the Russian foreign minister in Russia on January 15 before the visit was delayed to a later date.
