Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s leader on Monday called on the Lebanese caretaker prime minister Hassan Diab to support the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and to grant them human and social rights until they return to their villages and cities from which they were displaced by the Israeli occupation.
Diab welcomed the visit of the Hamas delegation praising the heroic steadfastness and victory achieved by the Palestinians during the recent battle with the Israeli occupation and affirmed Lebanon’s adherence to the national historical position in supporting the Palestinian cause.
For his part Haneyya valued Lebanon’s official and popular position regarding the Palestinian cause stressing the Palestinian people’s rejection of all settlement projects and the displacement and an alternative homeland.
He pointed out that Saif Al-Quds battle was a natural response to the occupation’s aggression against Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Occupied Jerusalem and the worshipers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Hamas leader stressed his Movement’s keenness to complete the Palestinian reconciliation and unify the Palestinian position to confront the Israeli occupation.
