Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s leader on Sunday discussed with the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb over the telephone the Israeli aggression in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the crimes in the Gaza Strip against civilians including children.
Haneyya stressed the steadfastness of the Palestinians and that his Movement would continue to protect Al-Aqsa and the holy sites.
He underlined that the Israeli occupation made a serious mistake by attacking Jerusalem because all the cities of Palestine had risen to defend Al-Aqsa with full force.
The Hamas leader appreciated the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar’s support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and the cause of Jerusalem which is the Islamic nation’s central issue.
Furthermore Haneyya received a phone call from Ali Akbar Velayati advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution who affirmed that Iran stood by the Palestinians at all levels.
Velayati praised the resistance and its heroic steadfastness. He also condemned the attacks and the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and extended condolences to the families of martyrs.
