Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has expressed his deep appreciation for the initiative Algeria launched to heal the national rift in the Palestinian arena.
“We are satisfied with Algeria’s meetings and the positive atmosphere that dominated the talks between us” Haneyya said in press remarks published on Thursday.
He pointed out that Algeria’s initiative to end the inter-Palestinian division “falls within the context of its national responsibility and its emotional and historical ties with the Palestinian people.”
The Hamas leader applauded the Algerian team that supervised the dialog between the Palestinian factions for nearly a year for its patience and its keenness on not imposing any vision from any side on the talks.
Senior officials of the Palestinian factions are slated to sign on Thursday the Algeria Declaration at the conclusion of the national dialog.
In a statement on Wednesday the Algerian presidency said that the Algeria Declaration would serve as a solid ground for achieving the national unity between all the Palestinian factions.
