Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya on Sunday congratulated the Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir on the recent US decision to revoke the unfair economic sanctions imposed on his country.
Haneyya expressed the Palestinian people’s delight at the decision that provides for lifting the sanctions that have affected the Sudanese people for many years stressing that Sudan has always been a leading supporter for the Palestinian cause.
“Sudan has been able to confront these sanctions and withstand their negative effects and has proven that it is capable of overcoming difficulties and moving forward toward development and prosperity” he added.
Haneyya expressed his hope that lifting the sanctions will pave the way for more inclusive development for Sudan’s people.
