RAFAH (PIC)– PA premier Ismail Haneyya on Thursday crossed the Rafah terminal heading for Saudi Arabia to perform the Haj (pilgrimage) before proceeding on a second tour of a number of countries to rally support for his besieged Palestinian people.
Deputy premier and education minister Dr. Nasseruddin Al-Shaer said that Haneyya would start an Arab and Islamic tour on Thursday that would take him first to Saudi Arabia to perform the Haj.
He added that Haneyya’s visit to Jordan would take place after the Eidul Adha. The premier was invited to visit Jordan and meet PA chief Mahmoud Abbas in Amman to resolve differences over a number of political questions.
PA premiership sources said that Haneyya was accompanied by a senior delegation grouping the foreign and interior ministers along with the acting PLC speaker.
