GAZA (PIC)– Ismail Haneyya the PA prime minister on Tuesday met a delegation form the EU parliament at his office in Gaza city and discussed with them developments in the Palestinian arena as well as the issue of the kidnapped BBC reporter Alan Johnston.
During the meeting Haneyya briefed the EU lawmakers on the condition in the PA-run lands affirming that his government has offered a lot of political initiatives but the Israeli occupation government rejected all those proposals.
He also highlighted that the world must deal with the PA unity government directly as it represents 96% of the Palestinian people and reflects their democratic option stressing that the EU financial aid must be immediately resumed and channeled through the PA finance ministry.
In addition the premier explained the tragic political social and economic conditions of the Palestinian people due to the unjust crippling economic siege that was imposed on them for expressing their democratic will and electing Hamas to rule them in addition to the incessant IOF troops’ aggressions on them on daily basis.
For their part the EU legislators said that their visit to the premier was a clear evidence of their recognition of and direct dealing with the PA unity government.
The lawmakers furthermore stressed the necessity of releasing kidnapped Palestinian lawmakers including PLC speaker Dr. Aziz Dwaik among other kidnapped Palestinian MPs.
Haneyya in return thanked the delegation for supporting his unity government and handed them an official letter urging further EU pressures on the Israeli occupation government to free the 41 kidnapped Palestinian lawmakers and PA ministers.
