Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s leader met on Sunday Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in his office at the Emiri Diwan in Doha.
At the beginning of the meeting Haneyya congratulated the Emir of Qatar over the Gulf reconciliation and the positive results of the Gulf Cooperation Council summit in its 41st session.
During the meeting developments in Palestine were discussed. Haneyya briefed the Emir of Qatar on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena especially the efforts made to strengthen Palestinian national unity.
On Wednesday evening Haneyya congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the phone on the Gulf reconciliation and the success of the Al-Ula summit held in Saudi Arabia.
Haneyya said “The solidarity agreement that the summit witnessed in the presence of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Egypt is a great Arab and Islamic achievement and strengthens joint Arab action and the defense of our nation’s issues on top of which is the Palestinian issue.”
He described the Gulf agreement as a victory for unity and solidarity. This helps in establishing a promising new phase in the region that will be reflected positively on the Palestinian cause and the support for the right of the Palestinians to be freed from occupation and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital he added.
