Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s leader and his accompanying delegation met Sheikh Abd al-Latif Derian the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic on Saturday at Dar al-Fatwa in the Lebanese capital Beirut in which the two sides discussed ways to support the Palestinian cause.
Hamas media office said in a statement that the two sides reviewed the region’s current crises and the projects aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause primarily the deal of the century and the annexation project.
The two sides affirmed the rejection of resettlement displacement and an alternative homeland for the Palestinian refugees and asserted that their return to their homeland is the only solution. Also they agreed that the sensitivity and seriousness of this stage require activating the role of the Arab and Islamic nation in supporting the Palestinian cause.
Hamas’s delegation which arrived in Lebanon on Tuesday evening met Nabih Berri Lebanese Parliament Speaker Hassan Diab Lebanese Prime Minister and Abbas Ibrahim Lebanese General Security chief in addition to several other meetings that took place with Palestinian factions such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
According to the Hamas statement the delegation will hold more meetings with officials and eminent personalities from Lebanon within the next few days.
