Ismail Haneyya Head of Hamas Political Bureau phoned on Friday evening Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and acquainted him with the Palestinian reconciliation agreement signed in Cairo on Thursday.
Haneyya hailed the efforts exerted by Qatar over the past years for achieving the reconciliation. He affirmed his Movement’s keenness on implementing what was agreed upon in the agreement.
Haneyya pointed to the commencement of preparations for next talks in Cairo either the dual or the comprehensive talks.
Qatar Emir for his part reiterated his country’s continuous support for the Palestinian people and their just rights. He welcomed the reconciliation and hoped that the reconciliation efforts would continue until achieving its goals.
Earlier on Friday Haneyya called Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani about signing the reconciliation agreement.
