Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya spoke over the phone with Omani foreign minister Badr al-Busaidi and highlighted the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.
Haneyya put minister Busaidi in the picture of the Israeli escalation at the Aqsa Mosque especially the police aggression on Friday against Muslim worshipers as well as Jewish groups’ intents to practice animal sacrifice within the walls of the Islamic holy site according to a statement released by the Movement on Saturday.
The Hamas leader affirmed that the Palestinian people would continue to defend the Muslim nation’s holy sites pointing out that the Israeli occupation forces had killed about 20 Palestinians and arrested many others across the occupied territories since the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
At least 152 Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli police forces inside Jerusalem’s Aqsa Mosque compound on Friday
Most of the Palestinian injuries were incurred by rubber bullets stun grenades and beatings with police batons the Red Crescent said.
The Israeli police also detained hundreds of Palestinians during their violent raid on the Mosque yesterday.
