Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya on Sunday phoned Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.
Hamas official Ezzat al-Resheq on Twitter said that Haneyya and Al Thani discussed the current Palestinian situation and touched on the various initiatives aimed at breaking the siege on the Gaza Strip and the efforts exerted to restore calm.
Palestinian citizens in Gaza have been living under crippling blockade for over 11 years now.
Since the start of the Great March of Return on 30th March which was organized mainly to demand the right of return for refugees and call for lifting the blockade 162 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire and over 17000 injured.
