Head of the Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya on Wednesday phoned deputy foreign minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov to discuss the US administration’s intention to move the US embassy to Occupied Jerusalem.
A statement issued by Haneyya’s office on Wednesday evening revealed that Haneyya warned of the serious repercussions of this decision which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that will drag the region into a new phase of conflict.
For his part Bogdanov expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people stressing that the Jerusalem issue must be dealt with as dictated by international resolutions.
Both Haneyya and Bogdanov agreed to continue communication and consultation on the matter.
