Hamas Chief Ismail Haneyya briefed the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on the progress of national reconciliation.
Speaking to Mikhail Bogdanov by phone Haneyya updated the Russian official on Thursday’s reconciliation deal struck in Cairo between Fatah and Hamas movements.
Haneyya hailed Russia’s efforts in propping up Palestinian intra-reconciliation.
The Russian official lauded the reconciliation agreement and expressed hopes that the Palestinians would form a consensus government and hold elections in the near future.
