Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya received on Thursday Mustafa al-Barghouthi secretary-general of the National Initiative Movement in his office in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting was attended by senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya former health minister in Gaza Basem Naim and members of the National Initiative delegation.
Barghouthi and the delegation accompanying him arrived in Gaza on Wednesday evening through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
Upon his arrival Barghouthi expressed happiness for visiting Gaza and thanked Egypt for allowing him in through its territory and pointed out that Israel bans his entry to Gaza through its crossings.
